As a not for profit organisation:

We are committed to embodying our values in our work with children and volunteers.

We strive to be inspiring, inclusive, innovative and impactful, and to act with integrity in all that we do.

Inspiring:

This value stands for what our not for profit organisation is about, linking the world of fishing with education and 

to inspire children from all backgrounds. We will encourage and support our energetic volunteers,

empowering them to do a great job.

Inclusive:

We will work collaboratively with volunteer and education partners to champion equality,

offering inclusive solutions that meet the diverse needs of all children.

Innovative:

We will look to form new partnerships in the interests of children, do things differently and have a ‘can do’ attitude.

Impactful:

We will seek to ensure that everything we do makes a real difference on children’s lives. We will ensure we draw on the diversity and talents of all our volunteers to do this, encouraging and challenging each other to improve ourselves as colleagues and to deliver a better service.

Integrity:

We will work with integrity to achieve our aims. This final value underpins all our other values. 

In everything we do we will be respectful, open, and honest.

We will operate with a strong ethical foundation and build trust with stakeholders and between colleagues

Safeguarding Policy

Reeling In - Junior Anglers is a not for profit organisation that works with young people to help inspire, motivate, provide knowledge and have skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their fishing potential.

We are committed to providing safe and supportive environments for everyone involved in our organisation and the work we do. We believe that everyone, has the right to be kept safe from harm, exploitation, abuse and neglect. 

Every Reeling In - Junior Anglers representative has a personal responsibility for safeguarding children and adults. They do this by considering the safety and well-being of all those involved in our activities and by protecting children and adults from harm, exploitation, abuse and neglect, reporting concerns whenever this happens.  

Our safeguarding commitment: Reeling In - Junior Anglers will:  

  • promote the general safety and well-being of all. 

  • develop trusting and respectful relationships with those we work with, recognising that they have rights as individuals and should be treated with dignity and respect. and in doing so, provide them with a safe and supportive environment. 

  • take steps to ensure those involved in our organisation and the work we do are not discriminated against, by us, through being a child, or on grounds of age, sex, gender, disability, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation, appearance or cultural background, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity. 

  • act quickly and appropriately where there are safeguarding concerns. 

 

To meet this commitment, we will ensure that:  

  • every Reeling In - Junior Anglers representative, understands their role and responsibilities

  • we actively create safe and supportive environments for everyone involved in our organisation – a place where people want to volunteer, individuals want to engage, and organisations want to do work with us.  

  • we encourage the active participation of children and adults in keeping themselves and others safe, encouraging them to voice their concerns

  • we practice safe recruitment in checking the suitability of Reeling In - Junior Anglers representatives, especially those who work with children. 

  • the organisation continues to monitor the implementation of the safeguarding policy and guidance and take any measures required to strengthen and improve existing practice.

Volunteer Code Of Conduct

At Reeling In - Junior Angler, we are accountable for the ways in which we work and have a duty to keep ourselves and others safe. This is achieved by maintaining a respectful, caring and professional approach to those we come into contact with and by conducting ourselves in a way that demonstrates integrity, maturity and good judgement.  

 

As a volunteer in a Reeling In - Junior Anglers program you must always: 

  • Be a good role model with behaviour and an attitude that are in line with our values and ethos. 

  • Be friendly, courteous and kind at all times. 

  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect in accordance with our Equality and Diversity Policy.  

  • Respect other people’s privacy and boundaries. 

  • Communicate with others in an open and respectful way. 

  • Be responsible and accountable in the way you carry out your role.  

  • Not act fraudulently or dishonestly or do anything that brings, or is likely to bring, Reelin In - Junior Anglers into disrepute. 

 

We are all committed to providing safe and supportive environments for everyone involved in our organisation – a place where people want to volunteer, individuals want to engage, and organisations want to do work with us to give young people the inspiration, motivation, knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their fishing potential.  

All volunteers must comply with this code. Breaches will be taken seriously and may result in removal from our database of volunteers. 

Safeguarding Children 

Reeling In - Junior Anglers takes safeguarding children very seriously and has robust procedures to address safeguarding issues.

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer at our kid's fishing clinics?

  

We are looking for volunteers for both metro and regional SA.

Volunteers MUST have  a current DHS/DCSI child-related employment check and be able to produce a copy of the clearance certificate.
